UTTC Women's Basketball Tops NHSC Storm, 91-39
Four UTTC players score in double figures as UTTC rolls past NHSC.
The United Tribes women's basketball team grinded out a 91-39 win over Nueta Hidatsa Sahnish College on Friday evening at the Thunderdome.
Myona Dauphinais led the way for the Thunderbirds (5-6) with a season-high 21 points after knocking down a game-high three triples on five attempts. Sophomore, Tyleigh Brady, contributed a team-high 17 points on 7-of-11 shooting. Jaxsyn Delorme registered her first career double-double with a game-best 13 rebounds and season-high 12 points. Freshman, Alionna Lawrence, also handed out a game-high six assists and nearly reached her second double-double with 10 points and 9 rebounds.
As a team, UTTC shot 38.4 percent (38-99) from the field and 25.9 percent (7-27) from three with four players posting double figures in scoring. Myona Dauphinais (21), Brady (17), Delorme (12), and Lawrence (10) all reached double digits. The Thunderbirds also hauled in a season-best 72 rebounds with all 11 players collecting at least one. It marked the most rebounds in a single-game this season.
The storm were led Lanaya Cummins' 14 points and 13 rebounds, followed by Kenedee Good Bird with 11 points and 10 rebounds.
UTTC will be back in action January 5, as they take on Gillette College, in Glendive, MT. Gillette won the first matchup between the two teams, 91-55.
