THUNDERBIRD WOMEN FALL LATE AT MILES CITY
Rebounds continue to plague Thunderbirds.
Miles City used a 25-19 fourth quarter advantage Monday night, as the Pioneers beat the United Tribes women's basketball team 76-67 at Centra Athletic Center.
UTTC dropped to 7-14 overall and 1-7 in the Mon-Dak Conference with the loss, while Miles City improved to 15-9 overall and 7-1 in conference play. UTTC returns to action on Thursday, Feb. 6 against Dakota College at Bottineau. Tipoff is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. in the James Henry Gymnasium.
Four Thunderbirds scored in double figures, led by Karissa DuShane with 18 points. Amryn Brown had 13 points for her fourth-straight game in double figures, while Haley Lambert had a career-high 12 points. Kierra Johnson had 11 points and 12 rebounds.
The Thunderbirds were 25-of-59 (42.4%) from the floor and 4-of-15 (26.7%) from 3-point range. Miles City was 23-of-78 (29.5%) from the field and 5-of-23 (21.7%) from downtown. The Pioneers were 25-of-35 (71.4%) at the free throw line, while UTTC was 13-of-19 (68.4%). The Pioneers had a 22-7 advantage in 2nd chance points, while UTTC had a 18-12 advantage in bench points.
