United Tribes wins at home 94-86 against Dakota College Bottineau
In a game marked by momentum swings and fierce competition, United Tribes emerged triumphant, clinching their 5th consecutive win over Dakota College Bottineau with a final score of 94-86 on a Monday night clash at the Thunder Dome.
The Thunderbirds found themselves trailing 22-13 early in the first half, facing a resilient opponent. However, they quickly turned the tide with an impressive 29-9 run, seizing control and establishing a 41-31 lead as the first half approached its conclusion. The game and Mon Dak Conference's leading scorer, Brenden Redhead, showcased his prowess with a three-pointer and two successful free throws, narrowing the gap to 41-36 at halftime.
As the second half commenced, both teams engaged in a back-and-forth battle, with the Thunderbirds holding a narrow 44-40 advantage. United Tribes then unleashed a stunning 12-0 run within a one-minute span, forcing a timeout with 17:40 left to play. A Houston Davis layup further extended their lead to 63-47 with 15:26 on the clock.
However, the resilient Dakota College Bottineau fought back, embarking on a 12-2 run that brought the score to 65-59 with 9:55 remaining. Yet, United Tribes responded emphatically, outscoring their opponents 21-12 in the following minutes. Key contributions from Houston Davis, assisted by Riley Spoonhunter, propelled the Thunderbirds to a commanding 87-71 lead with just 3 minutes left on the clock.
Cayden Redfield was a standout performer, sinking 6 three-pointers on his way to an impressive stat line of 28 points, 7 rebounds, and 4 assists. Houston Davis secured his third double-double of the season, contributing 24 points and 10 rebounds. Jacolby Pearson showcased his three-point prowess with 6 successful shots, finishing the game with 19 points and 4 rebounds.
