United Tribes Cayden Redfield Named NJCAA All-American
United Tribes Technical College men's basketball player Cayden Redfield has carved his name into the annals of Thunderbird's basketball history by being named to the All-American team by the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) today.
The 6'5 wing from Hardin, MT had a spectacular sophomore season with the Thunderbirds. His contribution was instrumental in leading the team to a historic season, clinching both the Region XIII and North District championship games. These victories marked a significant milestone for the school, as it secured its first trip to the national tournament since 2002.
The versatile Redfield led the way by averaging an impressive 20.5 points, 6.7 rebounds, and 2 steals per game resulting in being named Region XIII MVP. Notably, he also emerged as the second-leading scorer in the Mon Dak Conference and finished his Thunderbird career by reaching the 1,000 point milestone.
With his outstanding achievements, Redfield has become the latest in a line of exceptional athletes from United Tribes Technical College to receive the prestigious All-American honor. He becomes the seventh All-American selection in program history and the fourth in the last six years, joining recent selections, Famous Lefthand, Rob McClain Jr., and Cecelio Montgomery.
Redfield is a member of the Crow Nation.
