United Tribes bounces back with win on the road at Lake Region
Thunderbirds pull away in 2nd half for 19th win of the season
Jesse White scored a career high 30 points and DK Middleton added a triple double to lead United Tribes to their 19th win of the season on the road at Lake Region State College Wednesday night.
After playing nearly even for 30 minutes and the Thunderbirds clinging to a 63-62 lead with 9:30 to play a long three pointer by White sparked a 17-4 run that put Tribes in control 80-66 with 5:31 left in the game.
United Tribes led 88-75 with 35 seconds remaining, but the Royals were able to make a flurry of threes down the stretch to close on an 11-4 run making the final score 92-86.
White finished the night shooting 9-14 from the field including 5 three pointers and also dished out 7 assists. Middleton's triple double included 12 points, 11 rebounds, and 10 assists.
Sylvester Union added 17, Jayce Archambault 12, and despite being in foul trouble most of the night Tristin Davis rounded out the balanced scoring attack with 10.
United Tribes moves to 19-7 on the season and 13-5 in the Mon Dak Conference standings. They finish the regular season next week with home games against Williston State College on Monday and Dakota College Bottineau on Thursday. They then travel to North Dakota State College on Sunday for a 3pm matchup with the league leading Wildcats.
