United Tribes holds off Northwest College
Late free throws seal 94-92 win
Playing their first game since December 10th United Tribes was able to make enough plays down the stretch to hold off Region 9 foe Northwest College 94-92 Saturday afternoon.
With the game tied at 92 Famous Lefthand was fouled and calmly knocked down two free throws to give the Thunderbirds the 94-92 lead. After a Northwest timeout the Trappers Will Hemme drove the length of the court but his three point attempt at the buzzer came up short.
Lefthand led the way with 16 points and 7 rebounds. Jesse White chipped in 15 points and 6 rebounds. Tristin Davis and Sylvester Union each had 14 points and 6 rebounds. DK Middleton had a game high 9 assists.
United Tribes hosts Presentation College on January 10th at 6 pm before returning to conference play with a home game against league leading North Dakota State College of Science on Thursday January 12th at 7:30 pm.
