United Tribes wins on the road at Williston State
Thunderbirds win 96-73 over Tetons
United Tribes closed what was a competitive game on a 35-14 run the last 11:18 to win a Mon Dak Conference contest 96-73 at Williston State College Monday night.
The Thunderbirds led the Tetons 45-42 at halftime, but outscored the Tetons 51-31 in the second half while shooting a blistering 62% from the field. For the game Tribes shot 53% from the field, held a 41-35 edge on the glass, and dished out 24 assists.
United Tribes once again had a balanced scoring attack with 5 players reaching double figures.
Famous Lefthand led the way with 22 points and DK Middleton returned from inury with 13 points, 6 assists, and 4 rebounds.
The Thunderbirds had a huge night from the bench outscoring thier opponents 43-11. Tristin Davis was 8-11 from the field and finished with 17 for the Thunderbirds. Jesse White scored 13, dished out a game high 8 assists, and had 5 rebounds. Cayden Redfield had his first double of double of the season with 10 points and 10 rebounds.
United Tribes returns home for the John Thunder Hawk Classic on Friday night against a good Turtle Mountain Community College team. The women tip off at 5:30, followed by the men at 7:30.
