United Tribes defeats Miles CC in conference home opener
Thunderbirds win 118-89
United Tribes used a balanced scoring attack to defeat Mon Dak Conference foe Miles Community College 118-89 Sunday afternoon at the Thunderdome. The Thunderbirds jumped out to 10-0 lead and built a 56-44 lead at the half despite the Mon Dak Conferences leading scorer Blessing Adesipe's 17 first half points. Adisepe finished with a game high 29 points, but Tribes was albe to build their lead by outscoring the Pioneers 62-45 in the second half.
Famous Lefthand led the way for the Thunderbirds with 26 points and 7 rebounds. DK Middleton continued his steady all around game with 18 points, 9 assists, and 6 rebounds in the contest. Sylvester Union finished with 13 points and Cayden Redfield came off the bench to score 12 points on 6-7 shooting. Tyree Whitcomb finished with a game high 8 rebounds to go with his 10 points.
With the win United Tribes extends their record to 4-1 on the season. They travel to Dakota College Bottineau on Friday for a 7:30 tip before returning home on Sunday to face Lake Region State College at 3pm.
