United Tribes falls to Miles Community College in regular season finale
Thunderbirds will host Dakota College Bottineau in Region XIII Semifinal Wednesday
AK Kuany came off the bench for to score 24 points and grabbed 11 rebounds to lead 6 Pioneers in double figures to a win over United Tribes Sunday afternoon in Bismarck, ND. The win for the Pioneers ended the regular season for both teams as MCC finished 3rd in the MonDak with 10-4 conference and 18-11 overall record. United Tribes finishes 4th in the MonDak at 7-7 and 17-12 overall.
The Pioneers used the balanced scoring attack and outrebounded the Thunderbirds 55-40 on thier way to winning 122-102. Thunderbird guard Nick Jiles kept Tribes in the game scoring 41 points. Jiles hit 12-22 FG, 3-6 3's, and 14-16 FT on the day. Also in double figures for the Thunderbirds were Tyree Florence-Patton with 20, Herb Augustin and Cecilio Montgomery with 14 points apiece.
Miles shot (43-79 FG 54%) and (10-17 3's 59%) to go along with 26-34 from the FT line. United Tribes was (30-84 FG 36%) and (12-35 3's 34%). United Tribes will host Dakota College Bottineau in the Region XIII semifinals on Wednesday evening. The women willl tip at 5:30 followed by the men at 7:30.
