Thunderbirds Head into Thunderhawk Classic With 7-4 Record
Untied Tribes defeated Stone Child 125-77 heading into final home stand of 2019
The United Tribes Technical College Thunderbirds ran their record to 7-4 with a victory over Stone Child College. Tribes used a 20-0 run to end the first half to jump out to a 70-43 lead at the break. In the second half they limited Stone Child to 34 points and cruised to a 125-77 win. Six Thunderbirds reached double figures in scoring with Cecelio Montgomery leading the way with 22 points, 5 rebounds, and 5 steals. Nick Jiles had another great all around game with 19 points, 6 steals, 6 rebounds, and 5 assists. Lane Johnson added 15, Greg Whitesell 14, Tyree Florence-Patton 14, and Tate Bear rounded out the scoring with 11.
The Thunderbirds host Gillette College and Northwest College this weekend in the John Thunderhawk Classic. The women host Gillette College at 5:30, followed by the men at 7:30. The Gillette College men come into the Friday night contest at 11-1. Saturday both the women and men host Northwest College at 12/2pm.
